A new baby star map
A new baby star map shows the stars above the place a child was born, at the minute they arrived. It carries their name, the place and the date.
It is a keepsake for the nursery that grows with the child. It also suits an adoption day, a homecoming, a christening or naming day, or a first birthday.

Which date, time and place to choose
Use the town or city of the hospital, birth centre or home where the baby was born, and the minute of birth. The hospital name band, the baby's health record or the parents' first message to the family usually shows it.
A birth in daylight is fine. The map shows the stars that were above the baby at that minute, even though the sun hid them.
For an adoption, use the day and place you met your child, or the night they came home. For a birth abroad, enter the local time there; we use the time zone of the place.

A theme for a nursery
Starlight is a light paper with dark ink. It suits pale walls and is the soft choice for a nursery. Midnight and Eclipse give a night-sky look that suits a darker feature wall.
Use Outline for a fine, light print, or Solid to fill the sky disc with colour. The inverse styles swap the paper and ink colours.
Size and frame
The 12 × 16 in print (about 30 × 40 cm) fits above a chest of drawers or changing unit and next to other pictures. The 18 × 24 in print (about 46 × 61 cm) works as the main piece on the wall by the cot or above a nursing chair.
A frame in black, white or natural is ready to hang. If you give it as a present, a frame saves the new parents a job they will not have time for.
Ordering as a present
Ask the parents for the place and time of birth, or ask a grandparent who already knows. A message from the giver works well, for example from grandparents or godparents.
We print each map after you order it, so check the spelling of the name and the time in the preview before you pay.

Hang any framed picture firmly and out of reach of the cot, as you would any picture. A print only is lighter if you prefer to use your own frame.
