An anniversary star map

An anniversary star map shows the sky above the place where your story started, at the date and time it happened. You add a title and a message, and we print it on matt art paper.

It works for any year: the first, the tenth or the fiftieth. The night does not change, so the print grows more meaningful with every anniversary.

Which date, time and place to choose

Choose the original night, not the anniversary date this year. The stars at the same clock time on the same date look almost the same from year to year, but the Moon's phase and position change. Use the original night to get the exact sky of that minute and place, with the Moon where it really was.

For a wedding anniversary, use the venue and the time of the vows or the first dance. For a dating anniversary, use the place of your first date or first kiss. If you do not know the minute, choose the time you remember, such as 9pm. The sky turns about 15 degrees each hour, so the hour matters more than the minute.

For a long marriage, you can go back as far as 1900. Ask the couple, or check the wedding invitation or the marriage certificate for the date and the place.

A present for your partner or for a couple

For your own partner, the message can be private. For parents or grandparents, a star map of their wedding night is a present that the whole family can share. Ask a brother or sister for the venue and time, or look at the invitation.

Pick a size for the room

The 12 × 16 in print (about 30 × 40 cm) suits a bedside wall, a desk, a shelf or a hallway. The 18 × 24 in print (about 46 × 61 cm) reads from across the room, so choose it for a wall above a bed, a sofa or a chest of drawers.

A framed print in black, white or natural is ready to hang on the day. A print only costs less and suits a couple who already have a frame or a style in mind.

If you give it on the day, framed is easier. If you order late and want it to look finished, frame it.
