A memorial star map
A memorial star map shows the stars above one place, on one night that belongs to the person you lost. It carries their name and a few words that you choose.
It is a quiet thing to hang at home or to give to a grieving family. It does not ask anyone to look at a photo every day. It keeps a night instead.

Which night to choose
Many people choose a night of life rather than a night of loss. The night they were born is a common choice: use their town of birth and their time of birth, or midnight if no one knows it.
A night you shared can mean more: their wedding, the night you met, a last holiday, or the house you grew up in. Some families choose the date of the funeral or the day they passed. There is no wrong choice.
You can go back as far as 1900, so a grandparent born in the 1930s or 1940s works. A birth certificate, a family record or an obituary often gives the date and place.

Message ideas
- The sky above Cork on the morning you were born. We carry you with us.
- Those we love do not go away. They walk beside us every day.
- The night you were born, and every night since, you made the world brighter.
- Under the same stars, always.
- In loving memory of Mom, who taught us to look up.
- Gone from our sight, never from our hearts.
- Forever loved, forever missed.
Giving it to a grieving family
A star map is a sympathy gift that lasts longer than flowers. Give it a few weeks after the funeral, when the cards stop and the quiet starts.
Ask a close relative for the date and place, or use what is in the obituary. Keep the message short. A name, the years and one line is often enough.
Choosing a calm look
Midnight and Eclipse give a dark, still sky. Starlight is lighter and gentler on a bedroom wall. Aurora is a deep green.
Outline is the most delicate map style. Turn on the Moon if you want the phase of that night. It only shows if the Moon was above the horizon.
Size and frame
A 12 × 16 in print fits next to a photo on a shelf or a bedside wall. An 18 × 24 in print suits a main wall. A frame in black, white or natural is ready to hang.
We print each map after you order it. Check every name, date and spelling in the preview before you pay.

Choose a time that feels right, such as midnight, and leave the time off the print. The date and place still print.
Yes. Put the name and years in the title, up to 80 characters, and add a message of up to 200 characters.
It can be, if you know the family well enough to choose a meaningful date. If not, ask a close relative, or choose a different sympathy gift.
Yes. We calculate the sky for any date from 1900, and correct each star for the slow drift of the Earth's axis.
