How we draw your sky
We use a catalogue of 5,068 stars, with stars as faint as magnitude 6, about the faintest the eye can see on a dark night. We draw the stars above your horizon, add 673 constellation lines and correct each star for precession, the slow wobble of the Earth's axis, on your date.
We convert your time with the time zone and daylight saving rules of your place. Add the Moon if you want it, in its real phase and position for your place and minute. Pick any date from 1900 to 2100, including a night that hasn't happened yet.
