Sydney Marathon course map poster

The Sydney Marathon starts on Miller Street in North Sydney, at the same spot as the Sydney 2000 Olympic marathon, and crosses the Sydney Harbour Bridge on closed roads. It goes around The Rocks and Circular Quay, loops through Centennial Park, and finishes in front of the Sydney Opera House.

The event is the only remaining participant legacy of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and in November 2024 it was named the seventh World Marathon Major. It isn't flat: the course has 313 m of climbing, with a net drop of 83 m from start to finish.
