Tokyo Marathon course map poster
The Tokyo Marathon starts at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku and finishes on Gyoko-dori Avenue in front of Tokyo Station. On the way it passes Suidobashi, Kanda and Nihombashi, turns at the Kaminarimon Gate in Asakusa, crosses to Ryogoku and Monzen-nakacho, and comes back through Ginza.
The course has four turnarounds, at Ueno-hirokoji, Kaminarimon, Tomioka Hachimangu and Tamachi, so parts of the line run out and back on the same street. It crosses the Sumida River twice on the Kuramae Bridge. After dropping from about 40 m in Shinjuku to near sea level, it stays flat all the way to the finish.
