Rome Marathon course map poster

The Rome Marathon starts on Via dei Fori Imperiali, facing the Colosseum, and passes Piazza Venezia right away. It runs to Via della Conciliazione, the avenue that leads to St Peter's Basilica, and on to Piazza Cavour in the Prati district.

Late in the race it comes through Piazza del Popolo, along Via del Babuino to Piazza di Spagna, and back past Piazza Venezia to the finish inside the Circus Maximus, the ancient chariot-racing stadium. In 2026 a record 36,000 runners entered, about 70% of them from abroad.
