A missionary star map

A missionary star map shows the stars above the place and night you choose: the night the mission call came, the night of the farewell, the night they left, or the night they came home. You add a title and a message, and we print it on matte art paper.

It suits Latter-day Saint missionaries and missionaries of other faiths and organizations. It's part of our mission maps: a star map of a night, and a street map of the place they served.

Which night to choose for a mission

A mission has four nights that families keep: the night the call came, the farewell, the night they left, and the homecoming. Choose the one your family talks about most, and use the city or town where you were that night.

For the call, use the home where you opened it. For the farewell, use the city of the meeting. For the night they left, use the city where you said goodbye. For the homecoming, use the airport city or the family's home town.

To show the sky over the place they served, use the city of the mission and the night they arrived there.

A Latter-day Saint call letter shows when and where the missionary reports, which gives you the date for the night they left. Other missionary programs give dates in a sending letter or an itinerary. If you only know the evening, enter that.

Four nights, four gifts

A print of the call night is a gift from the family at the farewell. A print of the night they left is something to hang in their room while they're away. A homecoming print is a gift for the missionary, to mark the night they came back.

For a set, make the night they left and the homecoming in the same theme, size and frame. Hung side by side, they show the two ends of the mission.

Each print shows one place. To mark both the night and the place, order a missionary star map and a mission map, which is a street map of the city where they served. They come in the same sizes and frames, so they hang well together.

Sending it, or saving it

Many missions have rules about what a missionary can receive, so ask before you send anything to the field. A print is easiest to give at the farewell or at the homecoming.

We print each map after you order it. We can't promise a delivery date, so order a few weeks before the day you want to give it.
